Suture Workshop

  • Discuss the basic principles of wound management, including appropriate preparation and approaches to closure
  • Identify the appropriate suture material necessary to close a wound
  • Demonstrate best practice for suturing both superficial and deep wounds, using a variety of suture techniques, including simple interrupted, running, mattress, subcuticular, and others
  • Discuss an appropriate plan for wound care after suturing, when necessary tetanus prophylaxis, and follow up interval for suture removal
